About Colon HydrotherapyColon hydrotherapy, also known as “colonic”, “colon lavage” or “high colonic”, is a form of colon cleansing which dates back to early Egypt and has been practiced throughout the world for thousands of years. Colon hydrotherapy is a safe, effective and gentle process that cleanses the colon of waste material by repeated, gentle flushing of warm filtered water. It is a more complete and extended form of an enema. The enema reaches the last 8 to 12 inches of the colon where with colon hydrotherapy, the entire colon is cleansed.The popularity of colon hydrotherapy has greatly increased in more recent times due to the impact of modern society. The colon hydrotherapy session takes place in a private, tastefully decorated room, with soft lighting and pleasant music to insure a comfortable and enjoyable experience for the client. Each room is equipped with a bidet toilet, sink and personal cleaning supplies. The client lies on a specially designed colon hydrotherapy table, while completely draped in a gown and sheet while the therapist monitors the session to ensure his or her complete comfort. The colonic table features a disposable rectal tube that eliminates any possibility of cross contamination. There are built in check valves that prevent waste water from returning to the water supply. The waste material is eliminated through a drain line to avoid any offensive odor. The table is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected after each treatment The number of colon hydrotherapy sessions required varies among each individual.
